in partnership with Hopscotch Asian Women's Centre

On the 12th and 13th of July we conducted a tailoring workshop for women in London, UK for our partners Hopscotch Asian Women’s Centre (HAWC). Four beneficiaries who were interested in sewing and starting their own sewing businesses were referred to us by HAWC. Regent’s Place Community Initiative in Warren Street were kind enough to support us with a venue in Central London. Through their donation we were hosted in the Old Diorama theatre in the Regent’s Place enclave.

We had printed three designs on fabric – our collaboration with upcoming artist – Jay Keogh; and the two winners of our Kundakala Neo 2021 contest. Three our trainers and Jay Keogh, taught the women how to cut fabric and then to make scarves and our trademark pouches on sewing machines. All the women had never used a sewing machine before and were able to learn quite quickly.
