Alterations and Upcycle programme
This advanced programme is only available to our Make and Mend cohort. Under the supervision of a sewing tutor, participants are given training on making products to a very high standard. These products are then sold online and in local markets to give women a taste of creating products for public consumption. Wherever possible we encourage participants to upcycle and repurpose existing garments, fabrics, and sarees.
Participants are also given training on creating patterns and understanding garment construction so that they can alter and repair clothes professionally.
In some boroughs we work with Adult Community Learning to award participants a Level 1 Certificate in Fashion and Textile upon completion.
Additionally, we a programme of advice, guidance and signposting from linked community, training and enterprise organisations.

I’ve found what my skillset is and I’ve found my calling. This is where I feel I belong. It’s just a very creative and artistic process where you can use your imagination to come up with new things.
