Book in our Alterations & Repairs services to help prevent this! Our alteration specialists are Kundakala graduates who have started their own micro businesses and form part of The Kundakala Collective. They travel to employers’ offices with the Kundakala Founder & CEO, Poornima, and perform on-the-spot alterations for employees.

Individuals can contact us directly by clicking on the button below.

If you are an employer, our team of trained alterations and repairs specialists will very happy to visit your offices and fix clothes on the spot. Please read on and to find out how it works. You can then click on the button below.

How it works when we visit employer offices

What we need from the employer

  • Pre event publicising of the Alterations and Repairs day, so employees can bring in garments
  • Circulation of our publicity material which includes a QR code to get in touch directly with us on Whatsapp, so clients can ask questions about a garment they want repaired
  • A central space in the employer offices for the repairs with three tables with plug points extension leads
  • Payment to the Collective directly in cash or card (we use the Kundakala card reader for this and the ladies get reimbursed)

What you will get from us

  • A team of three specialists with Kundakala’s founder & CEO. We will attend with one or two sewing machines, a portable iron and ironing board, and threads
  • Repairs performed on the spot wherever possible. Some examples of what we can do are hems, taking in garments, repairing holes/tears, putting on buttons
  • Complicated repairs done offsite. E.g if we have to procure a zip or buttons; or the repair work is more complex, our women will take the garment home and arrange to deliver/have the client collect directly
  • A very personal service!

Kundakala clothes repair - a valued partnership

We’re proud to partner with Kundakala as part of our monthly member offering.

Since launching in our space, their clothes repair workshops have been exceptionally well received. Members engagement grows month over month, with many returning regularly to repair new items. Beyond delivering a high-quality, sustainable service, Kundakala contributes meaningfully to our community.

Their programme to support women - helping them gain social confidence, financial independence, and professional skills - is aligned with our values of inclusivity and empowerment. Their presence not only enriches our offering but also brings a colourful, uplifting atmosphere to the workplace. It boosts morale, sparks conversation and creates new connections among members.

Kundakala represents a rare combination of positive social impact, sustainability, and community engagement. We highly recommend introducing them to other workspaces!
