Upcycle Projects

When we last looked, the world produced 92 million tons of textile waste every year. This currently makes up at least 7% of the total amount of waste in the global landfill space. And whilst between 80 and 100 billion new clothing garments are produced globally every year a mere 1% of these will get recycled into new garments.

We are determined to do something about this via our Upcycle projects.

We self-fund this programme and invite our Kundakala Make and Mend graduates to attend. We meet once every week under the tutelage of the tailoring tutor to make products from sarees and other fabric donated to us by well wishers. Our graduates get paid for every session they attend.
